Below are a few shots of our simple but really interesting science investigation we did this week. We got 4 plates and put 1/4 cup of sugar, salt, and sand, on the plates then left one plate empty as the control. The next morning, the ants covered the sugar but none where to be seen on the control plate, salt, or sand! We used our
observations and
evidence to
infer that the ants prefer sugar! We thought we saw lots of dead ants but surprisingly, this afternoon, almost all of the ants were gone! What could we infer now? Do we need more evidence before making an inference? I, for one, do not know why the ants were gone, it's a science mystery just waiting to be solved! What will you investigate this weekend??? I sure do love all my little budding scientists :o)
